Asset Manager

The EON Asset Manager is a centralized system for managing a traceable object's assets (PDFs, images, videos, etc) and for enabling structured, secure, and dynamic workflow automation around asset-related business processes across the end-to-end product lifecycle — from supply chain and commerce to after-sales and beyond.

Key Benefits

  • Centralized Documentation: Manage all supporting documents—certificates, declarations, test results, and audit reports—in one place.

  • End-to-End Traceability: Link documents to materials, batches, suppliers, and products to ensure a fully traceable chain.

  • Compliance Support: Streamline compliance with regulatory frameworks like UFLPA, REACH, ESPR, CITES, and EUDR.

  • AI-Powered Metadata Extraction: Automatically tag and categorize uploaded documents to improve discoverability and reduce manual work.

Asset Manager List View

The Asset Manager List UI is the core working area where users can browse, search, upload, and interact with all uploaded documents. It supports multiple view modes, including large thumbnail previews and compact list views, allowing teams to customize the layout for visual workflows or high-volume document management. With configurable columns, advanced filters, and real-time search, this interface makes it easy to locate, review, and organize assets at scale.

Search and Filtering

EON’s Asset Manager offers advanced tools for narrowing down documents.

  • Keyword search ("buff" or “buffalo leather”)
  • Filter by metadata fields (type, tags, last modified, access level)
  • Highlight public vs. private asset status
  • Dynamic updates as filters are applied

Column Configuration

Customize your view for efficient scanning and sorting.

  • Add or remove data columns
  • Rearrange columns by drag-and-drop
  • Sort data ascending/descending by any field

Now You Try:

  • Open column config panel
  • Toggle visible metadata fields
  • Drag columns to rearrange
  • Click to sort by "Last Modified" or "File Type"

Viewing Asset Details

  • File: Basic info (name, type, size, access tier)

  • Metadata: Structured JSON, ideal for audits and DPPs

  • Associations: Links to products, materials, or suppliers

  • Versions: Track file history and rollback if needed

The File tab provides a high-level overview of the asset's basic properties.  For most asset types clicking the large thumbnail preview will open a full page view so users can view the asset in its original form without downloading it. This is especially helpful for quick reviews or audits.

  • Name and Type of the file

  • Created Date and Last Modified timestamp

  • Access and Access Tier (Private, Public, Hot, Cold)

  • Tags makes your assets easily searchable and actionable.

  • Generate Temporary Link: If the asset is marked Private, users can click the key icon to create a secure, time-limited share link that expires after 1 hour.

The Metadata tab displays all structured information associated with the asset in either JSON or visual list format. This metadata provides deep traceability, enabling the platform to link documents to certifications, products, suppliers, and compliance information.  As part of the ingestion pipeline, the platform supports Optical Character Recognition (OCR). When configured, OCR automatically scans uploaded documents and extracts predefined metadata fields. These may include certification ID, supplier name, country of origin, and license numbers, which are then inserted directly into the metadata editor.

The Associations tab allows users to connect an asset with related objects across the platform, such as products, materials, facilities, or specific serialized items. These relationships are essential for traceability and regulatory reporting, helping ensure documents are discoverable when reviewing product records or audits.

Add New Associations

  • Click the blue plus button to add a new link
  • Choose the object type (Product, Material, Facility, or Item)
  • Use the search bar and filters to locate the target object
  • Click “Associate” to complete the link
  • At scale this is all done through data integration and workflow configuration

The Versions tab allows you to track every upload, edit, or update.

  • Full document version history

  • Restore or compare older versions

Example Use Case Scenarios

The Asset Manager plays a critical role in solving real-world regulatory and compliance challenges. Below are three use cases that highlight how documentation linked through Asset Manager is used across the platform, especially in combination with tools like Policy Manager.

Customs Scrutiny on Product Material

Challenge:
A customs agency flags a product that includes Asian Water Buffalo Leather and requests compliance documentation, such as a test certificate.

What You Can Do With Asset Manager:

  • Instantly locate documents tied to specific materials or DPPs
  • View connected products, suppliers, and compliance data
  • Provide regulators with a secure, traceable document trail

Now You Try:

  • Search for the product or SKU flagged by customs
  • Open the product detail page and go to the Assets tab
  • Open the matching asset and review metadata
  • Use the Associations tab to view linked items and facilities
  • Provide the document or generate a temporary link to share with customs

API & Integration

The Asset Manager is deeply embedded into each traceable object on the platform, including items, products, materials, and facilities. Because of this, Asset Manager functionality extends across multiple UI modules and API endpoints. Below are a subset of APIs that interact with the Asset object

  • Create an asset

  • Upload asset content

  • Associate an asset to a traceable object

  • Disassociate an asset from a traceable object

  • List the assets associated to a traceable object

  • List the traceable objects associated to an asset

  • Search and filter assets
