Verifiable QR Codes

EON VQR uses digital watermarks that may or may not be visible to enhance QR codes with proprietary algorithmic data. These watermarks combined with our advanced AI technology makes it significantly more challenging for malicious actors to replicate or manipulate QR codes. VQR codes can be scanned using a camera, like QR codes. Full verification is achieved by analyzing the VQR images using the POST Verify QR endpoint.

The score is calculated based on several supply chain data points. Scanning the VQR code during the products lifecycle enhances the score confidence. These additional data and real time events* creates a more comprehensive and reliable Supply Chain Analysis offering, making it significantly more challenging for counterfeit or unauthorized products to go undetected.

Geospatial Authentication

Cross-verification of a product's scanned location against its anticipated geographical footprint in the supply chain. This sophisticated matching system serves as a first line of defense in confirming product authenticity.

Digital ID Verification

Compare the serial number from the scanned product with the Digital ID Product Passport. If they don't match, the item could be counterfeit or diverted.

Time-Stamp Matching

Check the time-stamp of when the product was scanned against the expected time-frame for that product stage in the supply chain. Anomalies could indicate unauthorized movement or counterfeiting.

Serialized Product Tracking

Track products with unique serial numbers from manufacturing to delivery. Any duplicate serial numbers or missing data points can flag potential issues.

Chain of Custody

Maintain and verify a digital record of all the parties that have taken possession of the product throughout its lifecycle. Unauthorized or missing entries could indicate a problem.

* The algorithm for generating scores is proprietary and secret. The exact data points and score weights is not disclosed.

NFC Type 5 Web Authentication

NFC tags can be used to identify products and items. This is done by storing an id value on the chip itself. This id is static and can be copied, thus allowing for the creation of duplicates or counterfeits. NFC tags with authentication generate a unique token each time the tag is scanned making counterfeiting practically impossible. The type 5 tag makes this authentication available through the web or http protocol and thus more widely available.

Each read of this NFC chip generates a unique one time code and dynamically updates the NDEF message which contains a URL carrying security elements. This code along with additional metadata about the chip and device is captured by EON's Digital Link Resolver (2).

Then EON's authentication service using the appropriate cryptographic keys processes the authentication request and returns a success/fail response. Failures will block access to digital certificates, product information and exclusive content.

Protected Redirect with One-time Token

At the heart of EON's Digital Link Resolver is a secure mechanism that uses one-time tokens (OTT) to safely redirect users to specific URLs. This is particularly useful in authentication processes, ensuring that only individuals that have access to the physical item and have interacted with the Digital ID can view the consumer experience.

VQR codes, type 5 NFC tags and supply chain analysis form the underlying infrastructure to ensure your product is authentic. The point of sale (POS) functionality in the EON Partner Access App support sales via VQR and NFC tags. Digital Certificates can also be created by collecting the customers email or other unique identifier. It's easy to use and can be deployed in store, distribution centers, repair shops, or even 3rd party partners to easily connect a customer to a serialized product.

The customer experience (CX) refers to the branded digital product experience. Each digital product experience is unique and offers an opportunity for storytelling, services and exclusive content. The digital certificate is a service offered under the customer experience and thus protected by VQR codes or NFC type 5 tags. A customer or reseller can select transfer certificate, enter the new owners email or id.
